Application & Review Process

  • Applications will be limited to no more than 5 pages in length (including references) and will follow the format of the attached application blank. These funds cannot be used for salary support.

  • Applicants can not receive more than one Anna Merrills Fund grant more frequently than every three years.

  • Applicants must agree to acknowledge funding from “The Anna Merrills Fund for Down Syndrome” for any publications or public presentation of work supported by these grants. Applicants must also agree to the use of their names and the titles of their projects in any publicity used to raise money for the Fund.

  • A one page progress report will be required at the end of the budget page and should include any grants received or applied for the project supported by the Merrills Fund.

  • At the time applications are solicited, a general statement of the number of grants hoped to be awarded for that cycle will be included so that applicants may gauge their chances of a successful application.

  • Applications will be submitted electronically as “Word” documents.

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Review Committee to be composed of the following people:
    • Dr. Philip Rosoff (Chair, ex officio), Chief, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
    • Dr. David Rizzieri, Associate Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology & Transplantation)
